Over the coming weeks, the team at Sift will be fully immersed in preparations for our annual Accounting Excellence Awards, an acclaimed event celebrating the achievements of ambitious growth-oriented firms and technology suppliers.

Bigger and better than ever before, the awards continue to recognise the firms and individuals who are making great contributions to the profession.

Now in its eighth year, we are hugely proud to be part of the programme’s continual growth and development. Moving from ‘Practice Excellence’ to ‘Accounting Excellence’ has allowed us to recognise and reward a greater variety of organisations across the industry.

After sifting through an impressive set of entries in the accounting, software and financial categories, this year’s shortlisted firms were announced in June this year. You can find out who made the shortlist here. We sent out certificates to celebrate the achievement, and it was fantastic to see them hanging on office walls and displayed on social media.

With our monthly talks programme, we focus on exploring the best ways to develop, improve and grow in the profession. It’s fitting that our awards evening will provide an opportunity to recognise those who have been outstanding in doing so.

In honour of industry excellence, the winners will be revealed at our black tie event on 20th September. Hosted by Channel 4’s Rachel Riley, it’s set be a memorable evening at the InterContinental London, Park Lane in Mayfair.

The evening kicks off with a drinks reception, giving our guests a chance to relax and network with other industry leaders. We then have a three-course dinner lined up from InterContinental Head Chef, Theo Randall – a regular on BBC Two’s The Chef’s Protégé. Needless to say, joining the tasting panel definitely made for a good day at work!

The evening’s entertainment will be in the hands of top comedian Tom Allen, winner of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2005, and a regular on shows like Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week.

Finally, to end our show-stopping event, the fabulous live band Alive are back by popular demand, to see us through until the early hours. Tickets are selling fast, and it’s set to be one of our best events yet.
