Job Title: Commercial Editor – AccountingWeb
Job Function: Content
Location: Bristol (working from home during restrictions)
Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)                                                                                                                                     

Salary: £24,000 – £26,000 depending on experience

We are looking for a creative and organised Commercial Editor to help us create highly engaging content and products across multiple channels for a wide range of clients in the accounting and finance space, from brainstorm through to delivery. 

Working closely with the Sales and Delivery team, you will react to client briefs with a wide selection of smart, relevant ideas that excite the client and the audience alike, designed to drive brand awareness, relevance and partner engagement. These can be traditional digital and print products such as articles, white paper or downloadable guides or taking advantage of our new range of interactive content types including podcasts, webinars and video content.

As Commercial Editor, you will be responsible for pitching, commissioning, creating and editing content concepts, working closely with the editorial and sales teams to help create and produce highly engaging content and products aimed at different audiences that drive brand awareness, relevance and partner engagement.

Working closely with Delivery and Marketing, the role will also be responsible for the coordination of all our commercial products – from resourcing and commissioning content creators to sign off from multiple stakeholders –  with all products delivered on time and to budget. 

Reporting to the Content Director of Sift, you will be driven by the belief that our commercial products can be as valid, relevant and award-winning as our editorial ones. You will be able to excite and enthuse clients, selling in concepts and ideas that meet their commercial needs while always remaining relevant and engaging for the AccountingWEB audience. 

What we’d like from you:

  • Solid experience producing commercial content (written articles, infographics, white papers, features and interviews) working with designers and contributors in an agency-like setting
  • Solid experience producing in audio-visual content (podcasts, interactive video-based content (webinars, live Q&As, panel, roundtables)), from content research to talent management to platform onboarding.
  • Dedication to driving the surrounding processes that make commercial content a success, including content calendar, SEO-driven companion articles, social promotion, smart scheduling, proactive marketing and reacting to audience data and analytics.
  • Experience in the systems each channel requires: print (Creative Suite), digital (web CMS), social (Buffer) and interactive (BigMarker, ON24).
  • Ability to engage a client with quality of idea and strength of conviction, with the desire and commercial acumen to want to win new business
  • Good interpersonal skills for managing internal stakeholders or external clients
  • Excellent communication skills, and work well in a team environment whilst working to tight deadlines 
  • Ability to be resourceful, adaptable with a positive attitude.
  • The ability to work at pace, hit the ground running and pick up new skills fast
  • Strong multi-tasking / project management skills
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and put those around you at ease during deadline
  • Experience of monitoring budgets

Job Title: Digital Event Programme Manager – AccountingWeb

We are looking for a creative and organised Digital Event Programme Manager to help us deliver our growing suite of digital events including webcasts, Q&A panels and other media, creating exceptional experiences for our audience, clients and partners.

As Digital Event Programme Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing, pitching and editing content concepts, working closely with the editorial team to help create and produce highly engaging content programmes for online events aimed at different audiences and drive brand awareness, relevance and partner engagement.

The role will also oversee the management and logistics of our digital event programme and will be responsible for the coordination of all our digital webcasts, webinars and other digital events on time and to budget. Working with the Content Director, Events Marketing Manager and AccountingWeb editorial team to strategise and ensure our digital content meets both audience and commercial targets.

Reporting to the Account Director of AccountingWeb, you will need to possess a can-do attitude, be results-driven and have the ability to adapt and work at pace, keeping the needs of both our audience and clients at the core of everything you do.

What we’d like from you

  • 2-3 years solid experience producing interactive video-based content (webinars, live Q&As, panel, roundtables), from content research to talent management to platform onboarding
  • Dedication to driving the surrounding platform-lead processes that make interactive content a success, including social promotion, transcription for editorial usage, smart scheduling, proactive marketing and reacting to audience data and analytics
  • Experience in producing digital events using modern platforms (such as BigMarker, ON24, Crowdcast)
  • Excellent communication skills, and work well in a team environment whilst working to tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills for managing internal stakeholders or external clients
  • Strong multi-tasking / project management skills
  • A commercial acumen and understand client briefs
  • Experience of monitoring platform / software budgets

Application Task

We want you to tell us how you would plan, deliver and debrief a live webinar from end to end. The task is split into two sections.

One of our hot topics on AccountingWEB for Q3 is wellbeing and stress management. We would like you to bullet point (5 max) key learning and discussion points you think would be relevant to our audience to cover in the webinar and a brief summary of why. (max 200 words)
We would like you to prepare a timeline to outline what tasks you would do at each stage of the planning, live and post-live process. This should cover all logistics you think are important when delivering a live digital event.

This task is designed to showcase your ability to prepare a content brief based on relevant topics as well as demonstrating your ability to project manage a digital event through to completion.
