Job Title: Business Development Manager – PracticeWeb

PracticeWeb is on the lookout for a results-driven Business Development Manager. We have entered into an exciting period, with a new value proposition and refreshed product set. We are now expanding our team to support our growth.

 

You will play a key role in supporting our vision of becoming the UK’s leading digital marketing agency for accountants in practice by 2021.

 

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, the objective is to build, manage and close your own sales pipeline of profitable clients.

 

Daily activities will cover contacting inbound leads and outbound calling to generate opportunities with potential new accounts.

 

We are looking for this person to consistently achieve their personal commercial targets and contribute to the team’s targets. Commercial discussions take place over the phone, via video conferencing and face-to-face.

The role suits a new business-hunter mentality, who relishes forging strong relationships with business owners and key marketing decision makers.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Craft proposals and lead digital marketing bids
  • Generate new business from cold-calls through to close
  • Capitalise on inbound leads generated by the marketing team and through our own website
  • Build a strong pipeline of new business 
  • The skill to link client needs to digital marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Work across teams to bring in experts to win new business
  • Collaborate with marketing to support lead nurturing
  • Be visible in market through keynote speaking, writing content, attending events, and presenting on webinars
  • Build influential contacts within the accounting sector, from vendors and thought leaders to accountants
  • Support defining PracticeWeb’s commercial strategy
  • Preparing regular reports and sales forecasts for monthly/quarterly reviews

Job Title: Tech Editor – AccountingWeb

Job Function: Editorial

Location: Bristol

Sift is a market-leading digital B2B publishing and subscriptions business, based in the heart of Bristol. We believe that we can inspire action every day, through the creation of amazing content, experiences and insight for our audiences and clients.

We’re on the look out for a talented Tech Editor to join our AccountingWEB.co.uk team. This role will focus on owning the accounting software editorial strategy and output for the UK’s leading accounting website.

AccountingWEB.co.uk is the most timely, insightful and trusted source for UK accountants seeking concise answers on compliance, business and technology issues to help them do their jobs better.

This is a new, highly-visible editorial role that is key to growing this important part of the AccountingWEB business – we need a super-organised, tech-obsessed individual who is creative, collaborative and commercially-minded, and will use this opportunity to grow the website traffic and their career.

The content you create will be audience-facing, and designed to engage a professional community of accountants and business owners.

Writing experience is preferred ideally with experience of business, B2B, finance and/or accounting journalism. An interest and experience in accounting software, apps and platforms is preferred with an interest in future technology and fintech an advantage.

To succeed in this role, you’ll be self-motivated, highly organised and an excellent communicator. A professional attitude is a must, as is the ability to work collaboratively and forge strong relationships.

Essential Requirements:

  • Track record in producing content driven by knowledge and interest in accounting technology market
  • Understanding and interest in the accounting market and professional audience
  • Experience in audience building through outreach, optimised content and editorial strategy
  • Experience in working with commercial content and supporting sales teams
  • Results-focus and commitment to the highest standards of editorial excellence and commercial requirements
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, writing and presenting

Preferred Requirements:

  • B2B background
  • Experience in accounting/financial;/business publishing sector
  • Performance management and line management
