Job-title: Event Marketing Manager, AccountingWeb UK

Location: Bristol

Hours: Full time

We’re a market leading B2B publisher located in central Bristol who’s looking for an Events Marketing Manager to join our dynamic in-house team to take ownership of our flagship award events and deliver our popular webcast series.

With 3+ years experience delivering small and medium sized events from end to end you’ll be personable, organised with a keen eye for design and passionate about creating amazing experiences. You will also be a digital native capable of delivering results based multi channel campaigns promoting and driving engagement for our events while cultivating a sense of community. 

This role is responsible for managing all communications around the awards programmes  so you’ll be a confident and out-going brand ambassador as well as capable of crafting compelling copy for email, press releases, and social. We’ll also ask for your expertise and insight on other events within our portfolio.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with the content team to understand the topics and trends that engage our readership and create compelling marketing copy for website, email and social campaigns for our events 
  • Work closely with the content team to craft supporting content around topics relating to planned events and create interest (“buzz”) with our readership
  • Manage all communications and enquiries from delegates, attendees, and potential event partners
  • Plan, manage, and deliver our awards programmes and presentation nights along with our webcast series
  • Plan and manage compelling multi-channel event marketing campaigns (site, email, social and other outreach channels) to amplify digital and live events driving attendance and engagement 
  • Coordinate supporting  content, marketing collateral, speakers, scripts, briefs, event and filming logistics, on-site production and additional logistics 
  • Create digital marketing assets including social videos/.gif, clip-based promotions, thumbnails and stills for client projects and archive purposes 
  • Work with our in-house design team to develop all required assets, and ensure needed assets are briefed into design team in a timely manner
  • Provide insight and analysis into the performance of the events and associated marketing campaigns 
  • Manage the delivery budget, accurately tracking revenue and costs
  • Identify and manage 3rd party suppliers throughout the life-cycle of the projects
  • Coordinate and produce live video content where relevant for events 
  • Occasional marketing support where needed for the delivery of our exhibition
  • Engage internal teams to drive ownership and accountability for key deliverables
  • Communicate decisions, actions, progress and performance with Publishing team and wider Media business. 

Key Experience and Skills:

  • 3+ years experience in an event marketing role
  • Experience of delivering integrated, multi-channel marketing communications campaigns 
  • Proven track record in event marketing and delivery as well as managing 3rd party suppliers 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with video production 
  • Basic design skills – Photoshop or similar and a good eye for design
  • Web design skills – WordPress would be useful but not essential  
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong internal and external working relationships across all levels, gaining the confidence of senior managers
  • Previous experience of working within a Publishing or Digital Media environment would be useful but not essential 
  • Inhouse or B2B experience preferred, but event agency experience welcome

We’re on the look out for a talented Sales Executive/ Manager to join our MyCustomer team. 

This role will support the commercial sales operation within the Sift Business Division, with a focus on driving new client conversations and revenue within the Marketing Technology industry.

There are significant growth opportunities within our market, both in the UK and overseas, so we’re looking for a dynamic, self-starting individual who can make inroads with new clients; including new market entrants. With a strong focus on diversifying our revenue profile; your focus will be on selling our high quality content marketing opportunities, digital advertising solutions and events, including new digital products that we’ll be rolling out in 2020.

You’ll be comfortable with selling advertising solutions, offering a consultative, challenge-led sales approach and have the ability to get under the skin of a client’s business to match their marketing needs against our extensive portfolio of digital, events and content-led marketing services.    

Reporting into the Head of Sales and Delivery, and working closely with the Account Management team, you’ll need to be a positive, results-driven, self-motivated individual with discipline, drive and tenacity. You’ll have previous sales or media experience, working within a team environment, and be proficient in proposal writing as well as having excellent phone sales skills.  

You may be a Sales Executive or Manager within media sales, advertising agency or in-house environment with a proven track record, looking for your next career move within a fast-paced digital media company.  

What we’d like from you

  • Proven successful sales experience (ideally in media sales)  
  • Confident and clear communicator for both verbal and written communication (proposal writing, presentations, meetings and phone sales)

  • A good understanding of digital marketing disciplines
  • Experience within the marketing technology market is desired but not essential
